Virginia Howard, 95, of Orlo Vista, FL, Entered Eternal Rest on December 27, 2024
With deep sorrow, we announce the passing of our beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, Virginia Howard, who peacefully passed away and entered the arms of her Heavenly Father on Friday, December 27, 2024, at the age of 95.
Born in Jacksonville, FL, on August 30, 1929, Virginia was the cherished daughter of Sly Williamson and Viola Nolan. She devoted her life to her family, her community, and to her work. For over 30 years, Virginia served with love and dedication in the cafeteria at Orlo Vista Elementary School, where she made lasting friendships and touched the hearts of many. Her caring spirit and warm smile will forever be remembered by those who had the pleasure of working with her.
Virginia’s life was one filled with love, laughter, and devotion to her family. She leaves behind a legacy of kindness and strength that will live on in the hearts of her children: Doris Powell of Oakland, FL; Roy Howard of Oakland, FL; and John Howard of Orlo Vista, FL. She also leaves behind 12 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren, who were the joy of her life. Virginia was predeceased by her son, Henry Corbett Howard, and her daughter, Alma Kathleen McDuffie, both of whom she loved deeply.
Throughout her life, Virginia was a steady source of love and support for her family. Her memory will live on through the countless moments of joy and wisdom she shared with those around her. She was a constant in our lives, and her absence leaves a hole in our hearts, but we take comfort knowing she is now at peace, watching over us.
A graveside service to celebrate Virginia’s life will be held on Saturday, January 11, 2025, at 1:00 PM at Lake Hill Cemetery in Orlo Vista, FL. All who knew and loved her are welcome to join us in remembering her extraordinary life.
