Susan LaShone Mixon

Sue LaShone Mixon, 66, passed away on February 26, 2025, in Orlando, Florida.

Born on November 27, 1958, in Sebring, Florida, Sue lived a life filled with kindness and selflessness. She was a devoted wife, mother, and nana who had an incredible ability to make everyone she met feel like family. Her warmth and generosity left a lasting impact on all who knew her.

Sue built a fulfilling career at Universal Studios Florida, where she began working in wardrobe in 1990 before transitioning into costuming in entertainment. She loved her work and took great joy in being part of the magic behind the scenes. She especially cherished the opportunity to work with celebrities and animated characters, bringing creativity and passion to her role.

Her faith was an essential part of her life; as a devout Baptist and a God-fearing woman, she carried her beliefs with grace and strength. Her unwavering faith guided her through life’s challenges and was a source of comfort to those around her.

Sue is survived by her loving husband, James Mixon of Orlando, Florida; daughter, Misty Mixon of Orlando, Florida; son, Michael Mixon of Lake Wales, Florida; grandson, Raziel Banks of Orlando, Florida; granddaughter, Cheyenne Durrance of Lake Wales, Florida; brother, David Clinton of Pitts, Georgia; bother Lewis Clinton of Tennessee; and sister, Cathy Gillingham of Orlando, Florida. She was preceded in death by her parents, Joel and Dorothy Clinton, as well as her brother Bobby

Sue’s beautiful soul touched countless lives with love and kindness. Her memory will forever be cherished by those who had the privilege of knowing her.
