Richard Vinson Obituary

Richard 74, passed away on May 11, 2026 in Fish Memorial Advent Health Hospital, Orange City, Florida.
Rich was born on January 5, 1952 in Cincinnati, Ohio.
He attended elementary school in Bethel, Ohio until moving to Melbourne, Florida with his family in 1963.  He then attended Southwest Junior High and Melbourne High School. ( class of 70’.
He was an avid sports fan from a very early age, especially loving baseball and basketball. He followed the Cincinnati Reds throughout his life and the Orlando Magic since 1989.
He was also a big fan of rock music and was an especially good dancer during the disco era!
His motto was “I might be old, but I saw all the cool bands”! And that he did.
He married and divorced at a young age and then remained a bachelor until he passed.
His working career was versatile, starting as a teen working in the construction business with his dad and uncle, including the construction of Disney World, then later supply manager for Universal Studios, a stint at Piper Aircraft in Vero Beach with his dad and ending his working days in the Parts Dept. at Magic Isuzu and David Maus Toyota before retirement. 
He was preceded in death by his parents, Donald Vinson Sr. and  Nola (Toki)  Vinson and brother Donald  Vinson Jr.
He is survived by his sister, Tonya Vinson Boomer (George)and his brother, Jeff Vinson (Carmen).
He had a special big-  brother relationship with his niece and nephews, Tracey Boomer Rhodes, Sonny Boomer, Torrey Boomer, Jeffrey Vinson and Nick Vinson . Also 3 great- nephews and 3 great-nieces made him so proud.
Richard was a Christian and born again believer of Christ our Lord, attending the Nazarene Church in Bethel, Ohio as a child and then the Grace Church in Port Malabar, Florida.
After many months of suffering with serious illnesses, he passed at 11:11 pm with the number 11 signifying guardian angels were taking him home.
A private family Celebration  of Life will be held in the Advent Chapel on May 25 officiated by Pastor Jerry Walsh.
