Rebecca “Becky” Lee Oliver
On Friday, May 23rd, 2025, in Orlando, Florida, Becky Oliver entered into eternal rest at the age of 73. Born on June 6th, 1951, in Rocky Mountain, North Carolina, she was the cherished daughter of H.B. and Ardea Oliver.
She is lovingly remembered by her daughter, Barbara “Missy” Skinner, her sister Susan Oliver, and Linda Oliver Jones, who preceded her in death on May 4th, 2024. She is also survived by her beloved nieces and nephews: Michael Oliver (wife Helga) and his daughter Kristen; Jason Boutwell and his son Jacob; and Matthew Boutwell (wife Jamie) and his daughters Madelyn and Makinley.
Her faith was the foundation of her life. For many years, she shared her devotion as a Sunday School teacher, guiding 5th and 6th graders and finding tremendous joy in sharing God's word with children. Every morning began with her daily devotional—a practice that centered and uplifted her spirit each day.
Consistency was her strength, most evident in her more than 25 years of dedicated service with Marriott Vacations Worldwide. Her colleagues there became extended family, and the relationships she cultivated were deep and lasting. She cared for them all with immense compassion, holding each one in her heart and prayers.
A lover of the arts, she immersed herself in music, theater, movies, reading, and television. She had a profound love for the music of the 1960s—her playlists full of the Beatles, Supremes, Temptations, and more. She was always ready to discuss the latest in music and film, often recapping the Oscars, Tonys, and Grammys for friends and family.
Animals held a special place in her heart, especially her cherished cats—Shadow, Olive, and Blue, along with those that preceded her: Tigger, Pooh, Faith, and Jasmine. Her pets were family to her, and she found deep joy in their companionship.
Known by all for her kindness and generosity, she was always ready with a listening ear, words of encouragement, and heartfelt support. To many, she was truly an “angel” on earth, and she will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
To her daughter, she was not only a mother but also a best friend, relentless cheerleader, and fierce advocate. She instilled in her child the importance of faith, kindness, and strength. Their bond was unbreakable—a testament to unconditional love and support.
Her presence is irreplaceable, her spirit unforgettable, and her legacy one of love, generosity, and faith.
