Pritchett, LaVerne Marie (Kahoun) Age 90, passed away gently at Winter Park Memorial Hospital on Tuesday, July 2, 2013, with family and friends. LaVerne was born in Chicago, IL, on February 15, 1923, to Frank Kahoun and Mae (Bedner) Kahoun. LaVerne was a loving and devoted wife of 60 years to Oliver Roy “Bud” Pritchett, who passed away in September, 2007. She and Bud moved their family from Schererville, IN to Largo in December, 1959, when they became owners of Town and Country Mobile Home Park in Largo. LaVerne is survived by their son Keith and daughters Pat Estes, Gail Karcher, and Susan Pritchett (Greg Will), 7 grandsons, Josh Pritchett, Erich and Scott Estes, Brian and Tim Karcher, Justin Will, Jim Kelly, and one adorable great grandchild, Milledge Estes (son of Erich). LaVerne will be most remembered for her business acumen and love of beautiful antiques and gardens. During their life together, LaVerne and Bud enjoyed many adventures. They were pioneers in the mobile home park industry, and facilitated Town and Country becoming one of the first resident owned parks in the state. After they retired, they traveled extensively with their family to over 60 countries. They were true life partners, and strong believers in education. They were instrumental in seeing all ten of their children and grandchildren become college graduates. In retirement, LaVerne and Bud also enjoyed spending summers at their cabin in Otto, North Carolina. Since Bud’s passing in 2007, LaVerne has lived with her loving, devoted daughter Pat in Winter Park, FL. One of LaVerne’s last adventures was traveling with Pat to Chicago for her 70th reunion from Mercy High School, a Catholic girls school.
