Kevin J. Proctor

Kevin J. Proctor, 50, of Orlando, FL passed away November 1st, 2010, after a 14 month battle with cancer. He was born July 20, 1960 to Valerie (Mihalka) and Edward Proctor in Cleveland Ohio. On May 12, 1989, he married Penny Edmunds in Peninsula, Ohio. Kevin grew up in an artistic family and his passion for art began at an early age as he dreamed of making animated movies. His natural artistic talent was further developed while he attended the Cleveland Institute of Art and he was accepted into Disney's Feature Animation Internship program - a childhood dream became a reality. He worked with the Feature Animation team for 10 years on several movies including "Lion King," "Mulan," "John Henry," "Lilo & Stitch" and "Brother Bear" - perfecting his skills as a "Layout" artist. After Disney, Kevin transferred his talents from "Layout" to "Concept Art" at Electronic Arts; learning a new medium of creating environments within video games such as "Madden," "Tiger Woods," "Nascar," "Superman" and "NFL Street,". When Kevin wasn't drawing, he enjoyed going to the gym and spending time with family exploring nature, swimming and video gaming with his daughter Megan, having an evening out with his wife and tending to his menagerie of pets and hobbies. He always tackled new challenges with a positive attitude and a hands on approach which he was also able to transfer to his art. His loving carefree positive attitude touched all those who knew him.
Kevin is survived by his wife, Penny and daughter Megan of Orlando, mother Valerie Proctor and brother Terry (Bonnie) Proctor, (niece Rose) of Cleveland, OH; Sisters-in-law: Pamela (Monty) Lee of Rochester, MN (nieces Kathryn and Kristin (Andrew Naatz) and nephew Douglas); Josephine (Daniel) Olson of LaCrescent, MN (nephew Eric (Amanda) Olson and great nephews Ian and Isaac); Patricia Edmunds and Jane Diehl of LaCrosse, WI (nephews David and Nathan and nieces Rachel and Sabrina); Jill Edmunds and Jessica Edmunds of Kissimmee, FL, and Julia Edmunds (Sam Moore) of LaCrescent MN; and brothers-in-law Andrew (Julie) Edmunds of Winona, MN and Edward (Debbie) Edmunds of Minneapolis, MN (nieces Ashley, Kaitlyn and nephew Colton); and father-in-law Odell Edmunds of LaCrescent, MN. He was preceded in death by his cather, Edward; mother-in-law, Blanche (Nicholson) Edmunds; and nephew Ryan Olson.



Calling Hours and Memorial Services will be held on Saturday, November 13th at Dobbs Funeral Home at 1:00 pm. Family would like to extend sincerest thanks to Electronic Arts Tiburon (EA Sports) for their continued support throughout Kevin's illness, MD Anderson Cancer Center, and Hospice of the comforter.
