John Bos went to be with his Heavenly Father on Wednesday, September 17, 2025,
following a short struggle with a debilitating illness.
He is survived by his loving wife of 66 years, Shirley De Ridder Bos, daughter Risa
Bos and son Dr John Jeffrey Bos, grandchildren Austin Bos, Ansley Bos-Hazouri
(Brandon) and Devin Bos-Galloway (Brett) and three great granddaughters.
John was born in Holland, the Netherlands on April 25, 1938, to Marinus and
Gertrude Bos. He and his immediate family immigrated to the United States when
John was 10 years of age. John quickly learned the English language so he could
start school 3 months after arrival in the United States. After living in several
cities in Michigan, he and his family settled in the Dutch community of Holland,
Michigan.
John graduated from High School and Hope College, both in Holland, Michigan, with
a Bachelor of Education degree and taught high school English. A gifted, naturally
talented keyboard artist, he soon realized the teaching profession was not his
calling. He joined Evangelist E.J. Daniels as organist for Evangelistic Crusades in
many US States. After the death of Daniels, Founder of Christ for the World,
John was ordained to the gospel ministry and began an international ministry of
music and message in high schools, colleges, and churches in multiple countries
around the world. The ministry also built schools, seminaries, churches and a Youth
Camp as well as funding two orphanages in India. John retired from ministry in
December 2024. However, his love for his ministry led him to continue overseas
ministry once a quarter. In 2025 he ministered in the Philippines in January and
Romania in June. John expected to leave for ministry in Kenya in September,
departure date September 22.
On September 17, 2025, God welcomed John into his Heavenly Home and heard the
words from his Lord and Savior, ‘Well done, good and faithful servant.”
A Celebration of Life Service will be held on September 24, at 10:30am.
First Baptist Church, Henry Chapel. 3000 S John Young Parkway, Orlando, Florida
