Jalen Nathaniel Terrell Obituary

Jalen Nathaniel Terrell, 20, went home to be with the Lord on July 15, 2026, after a courageous battle with osteosarcoma.

Jalen was born on April 26, 2006, in Newport News, Virginia, to Valencia Terrell Holiday. He grew up in Virginia, Alabama, Hawaii, and Florida, carrying a piece of each place with him and leaving his mark everywhere he landed.

Jalen was an incredibly gifted singer. He loved music and gaming, where he built a community of friends online. He enjoyed sports as well, playing basketball, competing in track, and finding his home on the football field at East Ridge High School. His teammates knew him not only as the big guy, but as a young man of deep compassion; he had a way of making everyone around him feel like they belonged.

Above all, Jalen loved his family. He was happiest and most himself when surrounded by the people he loved, and he brought that same warmth and loyalty into every friendship and relationship he formed.

Those who knew Jalen knew a gentle giant. He was kind, easygoing, and quick to give love freely, never asking for anything in return. He encouraged others, made people feel valued, and touched more lives than he may ever have realized.

Jalen is survived by his loving mother, Valencia Terrell Holiday; his father, Kevin Heard (Markita); his brothers, Terence Holiday (Lana), Brandon Holiday, Joshua Holiday, Brayden Terrell, and Joshua Heard; his sister, Brandi Heard; his nephew, Maxwell Holiday, and niece, Paisley Holiday; his uncle, Vincent Terrell, and aunt, Machelle Terrell; his cousins Ashley Terrell, Vincent Terrell Jr., Orlando Pinner, and Jordan Terrell; and a host of other loving uncles, aunts, cousins, and family members.

A celebration of life service will be held on Saturday, July 25, 2026, at 3:00 PM, with a viewing at 2:30 PM, at Real Life Christian Church | Clermont Campus - Auditorium A, located at 1501 Steves Rd., Clermont, FL 34711

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly asks for donations in Jalen’s memory via Cash App at $ValHoli or via Zelle at terence.holiday@outlook.com.

Jalen loved big. He loved hard. He loved unconditionally, and he would want everyone who knew him to do the same.

“The Lord will fight for you; you need only to be still.” Exodus 14:14
