Frances Marie Neil, 74, of DeLand, Florida, passed away on April 15, 2026.
Frances was a strong, independent woman who lived life on her own terms. She loved deeply, gave freely, and had a way of making everyone around her feel like they belonged. To know her was to feel like you were one of her own—she treated everyone like family and made people feel like they were her kids, no matter who they were. She found joy in the little things—painting, always baking for family and friends (especially during Christmas, her favorite holiday), and had a very large snowman collection. She also loved traveling and experiencing new places. She carried a quiet strength, and even as she faced Parkinson’s, she refused to let it take away the things she loved or the way she lived her life.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Hal Neil; her parents, Telesfor and June; and her siblings, David and June Ellen.
Frances leaves behind a large, loving family who will miss her more than words can express. She is survived by her children, Chuck, Jim, Bill, Shawn, and Dawn; her stepchildren, Jim, Linda, Butch, and Paula; her siblings, Gail, Ralph, Ted, Helen, and John; and a legacy of over 30 grandchildren, along with many great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. Her family was her world, and she made sure each of them felt her love in their own way.
Frances asked that there be no funeral or celebration of life, and her children will honor her wishes. Instead, they will carry her memory forward in the moments they share, the traditions she created, and the love she gave so freely.
She will be deeply missed, always remembered, and forever loved
