In Loving Memory
Effie Lou (Eubanks) Cobbs was born November 4, 1928 in Marianna, Arkansas the daughter of
the late Willie George Johonson and accepted Christ and was baptized at Pilgrim Missionary
Baptist Church. She moved to Buffalo, New York with her husband (Otha) and daughter in
November 1951. Effie was employed by the Board of Education in Buffalo in the Food Service
Department. Her husband Otha was employed by General Motors. They both retired in 1995
and moved back to Arkansas to be near her mother and son.
Her favorite things to do were to talk on the phone with her prayer warriors (those in Buffalo
and Arkansas), listening to 106.3 gospel channel and the news with David Muir, also loved
country music and westerns. When her loving husband of 65 years passed away, she moved to
Orlando to live with her daughter.
On April 12, 2026 at 97 years of age, God whispered in her ear that she had earned her
heavenly reward and she drifted away into His arms. She is preceded in death by her mother
Mrs. Willie George Johnson (November 5, 2005), husband Otha Cobbs, Sr. (March 18, 2009),
son Theodies Fred Reese (July 24, 2025).
Effie leaves to cherish her memory, daughter Judithann Cobbs-McKnight (Claude); sons Otha
Cobbs, Jr. (Maryann), Richard Earl Cobbs (Marcia and granddaughter Leiah); grandson Justin
Adam Leigher (Taylor) and great grandchildren Ashley, Dorian, Damian, Paulie, Jaqwon,, Jaton,
Justin Jr.., Katlyn, Jayda, Journee, Jeremiah and Gabriel; great great grandchildren Zariah,
Damiere, King, Prince, Cavin, Mikaile, Ivy Anna and Lalana: granddaughter Renee Reese and
great grandchildren Kamren and Karmen; cousin Jessica Eubanks; Special Friends, John Hassey,
Stephanie Gordon, Marylou Weatherford and Eulee Bennett.
