Clara Ann DeVaughn Richardson, age 92, went to be with her Lord and Savior on November 22, 2025. Born on August 27, 1933, in Verbena, Alabama, she was the beloved daughter of Archie Mack DeVaughn and Dorothy Irene Traywick DeVaughn, both of whom preceded her in death. Clara was also preceded in passing by her sisters, Lois DeVaughn Nobles and Chalice Mae DeVaughn. She is survived by her sister, Euba DeVaughn Melhem; her children, Steve Richardson, Terri Smilak (Chuck), Traci Richardson and Jamie Longmire (Ed); her grandchildren, Jamel, Joshua, Sarah, Rachel, Nicholas and Mary Ann; and her great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Her legacy lives on through her loving family. As the wife of a Navy serviceman, Clara lived in several locations throughout the U.S., including Charleston, Honolulu and Virginia
Beach. She moved to Orlando in 1983, where she worked at First Baptist Church of Orlando until her retirement in 1998. Clara was a long-time member of First Baptist Church of Orlando, where she spent many years singing in the church choir and participating in church life. She was loved and respected by all.
We find comfort in knowing that Clara is now reunited with her parents and sisters, experiencing everlasting joy and peace with her Lord.
