Douglas Dobbs has been a licensed funeral director since 1979. Originally from Chicago, he opened Dobbs Funeral Home in 1989 to serve the needs of Orlando and West Orange County. Seventeen years and thousands of families later, Dobbs Funeral Home is still serving needs and exceeding expectations.

He received a bachelor’s degree in Biological Science & Psychology from Purdue University and a graduate degree in Mortuary Science from Worsham College, Chicago. Doug is married to his lovely wife Sarah and the father of 3 children. A 21 year old daughter who is a senior at the University of Central Florida majoring in Theater and Performing Arts, a seventeen year old son who is a high school junior who plans on going into the family business and also pursuing a degree in criminology and crime scene investigation, and a seven year-old son who attends St. Andrew Catholic School.

After serving as the Cubmaster of Pack 21, Doug recently moved on to lead Boy Scout Troop 221 as the Scoutmaster for the Dr. Phillips / Metrowest area, where he recently completed the Order of the Arrow.

An avid student, Doug has studied and mastered the funeral customs of all major religions, with an emphasis on the special requirements of Protestant, Catholic, Hindu, Buddhist, Muslim and other faiths.

Mr. Dobbs is dedicated to serving those families who call upon him during their time of grief. Being a family owned independent funeral director allows him to provide special attention to those who need him most.
